- to develop more fulfilling relationships
- support you through difficult times
However…..
Counselling
is not a magic wand or a panacea for all life’s ills. Sometimes it can
awaken old wounds and this can be a painful process. The maxim ‘sometimes
it has to get worse before it gets better’ is often quoted by counsellors. However,
as your counsellor, I will help you to pace yourself, be supportive and informative if the going gets tough and
hold onto the belief that things will improve.
Counselling
requires commitment and work on the part of the client as well as the counsellor. The
more you can let your counsellor know of how things are for you, including how you experience the counselling and counselling
relationship, the more likely you are to get the most from counselling.
